I have the same problem with the hard-to-turn dial on my newly repaired GH, which got a new back end in its most recent 6 months in the shop. I was told that pushing the dial into/towards the body of the unit while turning can free it up. It does, but it doesn't 'cure' the problem permanently...
Yes, exactly.
I understand the purpose of going from the "split" cable to the single, reinforced connection - it's sturdier and less likely to break at the connection point(s). Any idea why the angled hole in connecting ring though?
BTW, I also notice that the ring only connects magnetically...
Updating my disgruntled post from a couple of weeks ago...
My unit was sent in for repair in January after it woke up dead one morning :), and the customer service team stopped responding to my messages in May. Finally late last month I sent a slew of messages all around the same time to every...
Updating a post here from last Friday - I sent two e-mails that day, one to the warranty address that they'd sent me correspondence from one of the several other times it was in for repair, and one to the 'orders' address, AND posted yet another message on the warranty page on their site, each...
Be prepared for the world's slowest boomerang :)
I was a first-day supporter of the GH crowdfunding campaign.
I then wait almost two years before I finally got my GH. I loved it, and still love it when it's working, but in the last year, it's been in for warranty repair three times. I sent...
Maybe this has been covered here before, but the FC search function doesn't seem to be able to bring up any posts specifically on the subject of "replacement batteries". So...has anyone found a source for Grasshopper replacement batteries other than directly through GH Labs? The folks at GH...
In response to several different and unrelated posts above, which I'm too lazy to quote individually:
I've used several different vapes over time, both home and portables. The GH is the best for me. Super stealthy, massive output - that's what I need, and the GH delivers.
I had a few issues...
I was using a cheap USB wall block that had come from some other device, with the GH cable plugged into it. I never figured out if the problem with it was electrical or mechanical (i.e. a bad connection on the USB cable, etc.) But I started using a different generic USB wall block that had...
This is the same issue I was having. I sent it back, and after testing, was told "The only problem is that the battery is dead. Try using a different charger." I did, and haven't had any more problems.
An update on my most recent problem. My GH had stopped heating up, and was flashing red LEDs as soon as I turned it on. I explained the problem to Caroline at HL, and was instructed to send it back for examination and diagnosis.
After they received it, I received an email from Caroline...
A follow up on my post above: that big shipment must have kept them busy all day, but I did eventually get a response at the end of the day today. Caroline first responded to my email to her, then a little while later replied directly to the email I'd sent to Trevor last week. She asked me to...
Speaking of lifetime warranties...
I had some issues with my first GH I received a couple of months ago, reported them directly to Trevor (this was before Caroline came on board as customer service rep), and got a quick response and quick replacement back end. Everything was good until last...
Just adding my $ .02:
I use a standard cheap plastic twisty type grinder and have never noticed any particles coming through the mouthpiece of my GH, which I've used daily for a couple of months now.
As for battery life, a full charge usually lasts me a couple of "bowls".
It would be interesting if these guys did what a lot of pioneering tech start ups seem to do do: get their thing up and running (more or less...), then sell the company to some deep-pocketed Google type company and walk away with wheelbarrows of $. That might get the manufacturing part into the...
Really? I have a $99 convection vape that is super stealthy, does exactly what it's supposed to do (although it's a little warmer than I'd hoped), and has a lifetime warranty. From my perspective, that positives FAR outweigh the one sorta-but-not-bad-negative.
If I can add one more unfounded prediction to the pile...
I think the good news here is that other entrepreneurs must be noticing that there is a healthy market for a high tech, stealthy portable convection vape, so I would predict that we'll be seeing more new vapes hitting the market that are...
As long as we're prognosticating, I'll take a turn. I think some of the technology used in the GH will eventually find its way into other vapes. But I also think it's very, VERY unlikely that there will be a knockoff of the GH that is actually better than the GH any time soon, unless NASA gets...
