I don't really want to disassemble it and risk it having a pool of melted oil and having to go through cleaning it and reassembling it and stuff...

    Got a DMM, disassembled cleaned and reassembled my SR71, resistance reading about 2.2ohms and hitting well from my blue double top. can anyone confirm if the serial numbers starting with "R" have short protection or not? also, the bottom adapters metal components came unglued from the black...

    hey @THC SCIENTIFIC (or anyone else) if I get to pick up a multimeter today where do I need to be making contacts and what readings do I want. Also do the replacement heads with serial numbers beginning with R have the short protection?

    Well, I only say that because my replacement black double top immediately burnt up, but I don't deny that it could have been my fault for not testing it with a DMM first, or that maybe the replacement top actually did not have short protection. I'd have to go a solid 30 minute drive into town...

    nah, all my stuff was at the girlfriends and one wasn't available. oh well, too late now. I think I'm just gonna give up on the hercules though, I've had zero luck with the original or the SR71. Maybe when the SR74 upgrade finally comes in... it was a refurb so im not sure it didnt have it

    SO i finally get some wax for my hercules and cut a fresh coil and loaded it up and swapped out the black rod to the white rod and throw it on my lightsaber with a double top and push the button. almost immediately i'm getting vapor, like 3 seconds in and its milky white. Let off the button...
