What's The Average Age Around Here?

44 with the spine of a 90 year old. From a USAF family - my dad is a retired captain, uncle a retired TAC general. Though the uncle has been teaching Navy folks of some ilk since he retired. I followed the Grateful Dead and studied the history of science and occultism instead. Ended up...

What type of food person are you?

Corned beef is acceptable. Reuben's was (maybe still is) a deli in NY, they had pastrami reubens, corned beef, tongue, you name it/ But the pastrami is ORGASMIC when done right. Real kosher pastrami has fat levels

What type of food person are you?

It has gotten so hard to find pastrami with any fat in it. Pastrami is SUPPOSED to have fat. Dripping, tasty fat.

    The Herbalizer

Been watching this thread a long time, and definitely have decided I need one of these. Will be the 1st whip or bag cape I've bought in years and the most expensive vape I've bought . Just can't afford it quite yet - my damn power wheelchair broke and my insurance company won't replace it for...

What type of food person are you?

This is really hard to answer. While in grad school I apprenticed to a French master chef for 3+ years and two Italian masters for a year. Plus my ex-wife, also a chef, was from New Delhi. And I grew up in my uncle's deli and cheese shop in NY, lived in North Carolina for years and just got...

    guy vaporized booze!

Using serious culinary tech, i.e. a rotary evaporator, you can get JUST the flavor of a liquor as either a vapor or liquid. So I'd guess there's a way to get both the flavor and the alcohol if you wanted to.

    guy vaporized booze!

Nope. Has to be under specific pressures, but it is straight-up pure ethyl alcohol. Trust me dude- PhD in history of ideas and science. I've used the equipment. Can't see them with the naked eye, but you CAN see the trails high-energy atoms leave in the pressurized alcohol cloud with the...

    guy vaporized booze!

One fact makes me a troubled - i've played with old school tabletop cloud chambers (for visually detecting individual atoms and large subatomic particles) and the 'cloud' is pressure-vaporized alcohol. The idea of inhaling anything that can make individual atoms visible makes me deeply nervous.

    Discontinued Pinnacle Pro

You're right, it isn't stable. Working on that. On the upside, the little mouthpiece I;m using is thick, it was free (with a big glass piece), and I have half a dozen just like it. So I won't cry if it breaks.

    Discontinued Pinnacle Pro

I actually just did that pretty easily- flipped an unused 14mm slide around, put the washer from the end of the Supreme 2 on it for a better seal, and voila. Short path but less glass to carry and possibly break in a pocket (I've broken half a dozen glass solo stems that way).

    Discontinued Pinnacle Pro

A standard 18/14 GonG downsized has made the PnP work with almost everything I've tried, except for LSV wands, which also need an 18/18 female-female adapter. But I almost exclusively use glass. I also found numerous glass slides that fit over the PonG adapter like they were designed for it...

    Discontinued Pinnacle Pro

I just used the PnP with my Cloud HT (Vertigo Hydratree) for the first time, and I'm shocked anew by the vapor quality. The taste was almost identical to the same strain in my Cloud (OG ticker). I was planning to get either a Firefly or Ascent, but now I'm thinking I'm set for a portable, for...

    Discontinued Pinnacle Pro

Just got one of these. I lost my original Pinnacle, its case and bullets, somewhere in my damn apartment. Kind of glad now though - this thing is MUCH more powerful, IMHO. Just became my go-to portable.

    Happy new years resolutions.

Good luck with that. I've been in pain since 1996, and I still spend part of almost every day a bit pissed off. Buddhist meditation (and vaping) help. BTW - my browser has recently been changing 'vaping' to 'gaping'. It just did it again. Anyone else have this happen?

Any knife nuts here at FC?

Looks like that worked, so here are some more. Keeping with the theme, here are some shots of an antique Mongolian Buddhist blade, with some sutra inscriptions. And now shots of the antique Thai buddhist blade, much larger than the Mongolian one, but more practical (no fancy silver...

Any knife nuts here at FC?

Here goes my 1st ever attempt to post a pic to FC. This one is a shot of my Marto Mongolian Imperial saber, best balance on any blade I have ever held.

Any knife nuts here at FC?

God damn instagram. I'd never used it before, I'd taken lovely full-frame pics of some of my blades, went to upload them and Instagram only let me select a little square of each picture. WTF? Gotta start all over again.

Any knife nuts here at FC?

Useable, though it needs some sharpening. Took a while to find a real combat-capable one though. Forgot some of the collection - two Buck Century knives, an Indonesian keris (or kris), a flamberge, and a 19th Century German saber. There is probably more.

Any knife nuts here at FC?

I have one of those Klingon-type ones. Don't know how I missed this thread before. I've been a HUGE blade collector for over 25 years - knives, swords, axes, tomahawks. Got more into them when I was both a chef and a historian - tons of the history of tech is related to blades. And my...
