What is the heat shield on the hammer rod designed for? Can I safely run the hammer with it attached?

Five click on/off, 4 clicks and hold for 3 sec for hammer style on, click again to turn off. Make it blink in the Hammer mode so you don't forget its on. I like the way the V3 button looks, but I wish It didn't recess so far in when you push it.

The ceramic I had was crazy hard. I tried chipping it and it dulled my screwdriver! I had to use a tiny diamond coated grinding bit.

A coil atomizer that is, not a herc coil. Haven't tried that yet.

I've been doing the same thing, 7.4v rebuilt KISS with a tiny drop of oil melted on the coil, but upside down, directly into the vertical joint on my bong. Works great, even upside down. I literally just hold the button and rip until the vapor thins out. Its awesome.

I don't have enough oil to fill a buffer and then some, and the titanium cup didn't work out. So here is my ceramic cup bufferless setup. A 15% ss coil, and the ceramic cup pulled from a cloud tornado atomizer. No buffer, and a chunk of shatter about 3x too big for the KISS cart seemed to work...

SR-71 7.4v rod. Yes to the insulator at the base of the bottom rod sleeve. EDIT: Disassembled and reassembled a few more times, and IT WORKS! I really have no clue what the problem was, but I am very glad that its working now.

I am familiar with low voltage cutoff circuits from RC. I had a feeling that this was related. The peak load on the battery causes the voltage to temporarily drop and trips the LVC. I'm pretty sure this generally happens on the higher discharge batteries though which seems opposite from whats...

It doesn't really seem like a problem to me, but rather a "feature" that keeps you from putting too much stress on the batteries and the top.

What does the blinking light indicate, literally? I am trying to understand what the problem is. Ive read that the stock batteries work, just not as long. Is the current load too high for the batteries, and can the top detect this?
