So I went ahead and ordered the satchmos, and jyarz threw in an extra classic for the shipping "delay", which was mainly just me wanting things nooow. You guys are alright.

Generally if I'm heating from off I just set it to 10 for a few minutes while I grind some material, then knock it back down to 7 and wait another few minutes for it to cool. In my experience it's good to go at that point.
