Yep you got to find your sweet spot with the adjust-a-bowls, and I find it's different for the direct draw stem compared to the gongs as well. A little heat sinking goes a long way. It's terrific when you get it right.

Yeah I find that quite odd, I get better hits when drawing super slow from the direct draw stem. It's the only way I'll get a dark and mostly even ABV using that (with stirs). Even then, it still regularly focuses heat to one side of the load (frustrating). I don't really white wall my bubbler...

Hey @Caligula, I'm curious, how do your 2 nano's compare? Do they run at the same temps? Do they hit a packed load equally, in terms of heat distribution? I'm interested to know if there is any variation amongst units.

My heat distribution was always a bit off centre. The heat always concentrated toward the neon side of the load, so I thought I'd try taking off the heater screen (I don't recommend it). Heat distribution became worse, so I just dodgily added my own screen again and here's what I ended up with...

Cheers mate, I'm very happy with it. Two exotic nanos went up on the site and I pulled the trigger, thinking I was getting the other one. Most of the knots are visible in that pic above. The other side is pretty standard for a maple burl. Will try get some more pics up tonight for ya'll ;)

Far out I really rate this thing. Gets you to where you wanna be, off not much herb. Flavour is amazing through the glass stem and I haven't tried it through water yet. Andy even chucked in an aromatherapy bowl at no extra cost! What else is there to say but buy one, your lungs deserve it...

I'm glad to hear that. I think I went overboard and bought about 6 of them when I saw the amount of butane they could hold. Do you have any problems with the flame cutting out mid draw?

How's that lighter working for you? I ordered a few very similar looking ones off the dx website, I dont think they said xing on them though.

Mine started to crack after 8 days. I've been waiting for the replacement to get to me. It still works though and I got it out again tonight. Mine seems to be cracking from the tip of the indented line, towards the centre of the heating plate. Different to other patterns I've seen on here :shrug:
