Lately I've been experimenting with different loading techniques in my Herbalizer. I think that I've found a much better way for me to use it. I loosely fill the lower chamber to half way, then tamp it down so that it's fairly compressed. Then I hook up my water pipe and run the herbie at 430...

I've been using a domed screen that serves the same purpose for a year now. It vastly improves the airflow and slows the rate that the top screen gets clogged and needs cleaning. It's a must do mod for the Herbalizer or it just won't fill bags properly nor will you get easy pulls from the whip.

I find that I cough regardless of intake method as there is a compound that is released around 420+ that acts as an expectorant. Meaning that it makes me cough up a load of mucus for about 20 mins after. At which point all the mucus is pretty much gone from my air path it finally stops tickling...

If it is at the set temp it will pulse the fan to sample the air temps ever so often. If it is below the set temp it will run the fan and show a small flame icon to indicate it is heating. There is also a red bar to the left of the set temp that shows where the temp is at in the unit as it...

I agree with this theory. I know that 365F on my Mighty gets the ABV a great deal darker than 365F on my Herbalizer. I suspect that the temps could be getting closer to ~385F as the ABV and effects reflect this, ( I tested with a strain I'm familiar with).

It's not that the vape has less heat. It's way in which the heat transfer occurs. With the Herbalizer the chamber is relatively conduction free. So any heat transfer is going to be through convection. This leads to a slower way of extracting and heating because gas is a poor conductor of heat...

I find that it doesn't matter if I pack it or not due to the oversized concentrate pad I use to fill the upper flare of the chamber. It keeps the herb in the lower ring, it stops my upper screen from plugging and it allows for much more consistent ABV. I stir my ABV if I dropped kief in with...

The Herbalizer will make clouds at 365 no problem. It just depends how much weed you put in and how potent it is. I get two thick bags of vapour before it starts to be non visible. I'm not sure why others are saying it doesn't produce?

    Favorite strains to vape?

Indicas can overwhelm me at times too. Sativas leave me grinning from ear to ear in a happy mental buzz. Green crack and strawberry cough for life.

There's nothing wrong with 445 *F! The lower temps might not satisfy you if you like higher temps. It's not as intense.

Try 330 - 365 for a head high, anything above those temps starts getting into stoned territory. Also be warned that different strains need higher temps for their full effect. An indica vaped at low temps can give a head high without the body high. Which is useful when you don't have sativas...

This really isn't required as it will shut off the heating element after a few mins of not being used. Just wait for the screen saver and then shut the lid. No need to be messing with the temp setting so often.

I have to disagree with hot water or even warm water being smoother. It makes me cough almost immediately and it tickles my throat even when there's no vapour in the piece. It feels like there's hot pins jabbing my throat which is a terrible experience. I find that there's more than enough...

It'll give you cold vapour for a while but will quickly warm up. I love my DIY ice chamber for a similar effect, only the ice adds moisture to the vapour making it smoother. It also might not be the best idea to be exposing the glass to a large temperature shock like that.

Make sure you get the SonG from @Ratchett unless you're planning to do what I did. Otherwise it won't be that easy to get the solid valve to mate the herb chamber.

That will include everything you need and some extras (the herb chamber, brush and pads). If you were to order the individual parts it comes out to $20 less or so, plus you get two more rolls of bags. At the rate I'm going through bags it's going to take me a long time to run through all three...

You might want to order Volcano bags to replace the Herbie bags. They're far more durable in my experience.
