I'm still using my Splinter solely in wattage mode. I put sur_myevic on my P80 and set up pre-heat and autofire. It is working really well. For my own situation I don't really see a reason to set up TC.

Yeah, I was twisting an Ed’s Blackwood stem out of my walnut custom Mi2 and it didn’t want to come out. Since I recently sent my custom Z in for warranty repair after twisting the same stem resulted in the glass coming out with it, I took my time, was gentle, and eventually got it loose. But...

I generally run mine about 35w and get good results. How fast is your draw? I draw pretty slowly and get good vapor. Usually brown out in about 4 hits or so. I also rotate the stem between hits, which helps.

I think the "That it is" could be referring to the "really, really nice" and not the "Is it a water tool?" In any case I agree with you, I wouldn't use it with water directly above the heater in an RBT vape. I think it's supposed to work something like @RogueGuy 's vapcap stem where the baffles...

I just got mine yesterday too. Beautiful piece, plus so much great extra stuff: screens, screen install tool, rocks, beeswax, grinder cleaning brush. Haven’t used it yet, getting over some congestion. But I don’t actually see any mention of water on the product page. I think it’s meant to be...

My Splinter reads 0.22 as well, so I think you’re fine. You must get great flavor at that wattage too.

There's some DIY kits that are somewhat cheaper, about 160. But you'd have to solder and assemble them. Plus they don't have warranty coverage, AFAICT from the description.
