Oh, my voltage meter will also measure ohm? I did not realize this. :ugh: So where/what then do I connect the probes to to test ohm ratings??

I do not have an ohm meter. I based my 2 ohm statement based on what you stated the ohm resistance is on those coils a page or two back. Other than that, I unfortunately cannot say.

I'm sorry, but I must return to a point regarding three coils. If the battery delivery is a constant at 6v, wouldn't simply adding a third coil of equal length and gauge as that of the first two simply disperse that same available 6v of current over three coils instead of two? Or will it rather...

When it's all said and done, we early fortunate ones, will still have our LifePo4's as the secondary backups when we inevitably run through even the more robust arsenal of battery technology. For personal sessions, they will always be suitable and a good hedge on running through the new ones, no?

Once it comes, TV will take over the world! Good thing is, it will be modular with our current awesomeness...

That is also true. If TV did not try it, I just might have to. I have a question into them to find out if it was ever prototyped. It is certainly true that a tiny adjustment can make a big difference. Just look at how great the T1 works already! I'm sure there were many unsuccessful...

To that end, it ain't the batteries. They are all fairly new sets in proper operating condition. I say proper, as in, all the sets hold a proper charge, they all provide a solid round to get through a chamber, and they all discharge, and each pair recharges at equal pace. I know it's been...

I may have to buckle and concede defeat on this one. Can't say I know better. So long as the one I'm being sent holds up to knocks like the one in their stress test, and so long as my previous two were anomalies that suffered bad connections, I may just have to agree to stick to stock. :uhoh:

Two things here. First of all, I am in agreement (and previously stated I stand corrected) that what I am indeed asking for is THICKER wire, NOT thinner. Though, as Pipes has mentioned, this will lead to even more energy being drained from the batteries. So, it is a trade off between battery...

This is a good point, likewise, OF. And a point I would appreciate clarification from TV on. I inquired by email about what caused the failure in my first core several weeks back, but did not get an answer to that question. I am all that much more interested in knowing what happened to both...

Thank you OF. I stand corrected as to the resistance requiring either a thicker gauge and/or longer length; not shorter. That makes sense. However, in consideration that I have had a coil fail in two cores in such short time, I think indeed there is an advantage to be had in using a thicker...

Do you mean 30 watts? I am confused on that point.

OF, is this all to imply you would reckon that each of the three coils will still have to get as hot as each of the two coils do in the standard core? If that is true, wouldn't that lead to a full 1/3 more total heat generation, which would in turn lead to likely combustion? I ask because it...

This is very much part and parcel of what I, and I believe TV, would heart assistance in figuring out. Any guidance on the numbers is much much appreciated. This seems a worthy project.

Glad to hear. In a related note, it appears that TV will be able to accommodate my request for a custom-ordered 3-coil core (!!) This could get interesting. My stated (and actual) reasons for requesting as such, is two-fold. First of all, it is my assumption, and I hope I am not making an...

Your core is only glowing on one of the two coils? As you can pretty clearly see in my photo above, the coil on the leftish side of the core is VISIBLY grey, and the one on the right is glowing orange, so if you have the problem, not only is it visibly telltale, but also, you would not be...

A blown coil is easy to notice. First of all, you don't get proper vapor production with only one of the two coils engaged, even on a fresh set of cells. Secondly, looking at the core while engaging the switch, you will noticeably see (either) two, or in my case one, individual coil(s) glowing...
