Do you have that study on hand? I would think smoke would take longer to absorb, since our lungs are designed for gases, they are easily processed. Interesting stuff nonetheless.

Breathing in through mouth, exhale via nose, inhale via mouth, etc. Basically a constant flow of vapor is being put into your lungs.
