Actually, Pyrex is a brand name, but it is no longer borosilicate glass. I don't know when they state the glass is "pyrex" if they intend to mean it is borosilicate, or a bunch of melted down broken cookware that has been recycled. Older Pyrex was borosilicate, but they changed (i believe)...
