Only thing to remember for testing is to have the coil soldered on, even a temporary solder connection. After that, 5-6V and about 1 amp or so will let you test the circuit without a VapCap. More current and you can also test this super low voltage induction heating. I get great sessions with...

@dantemaniaco - I wonder if you are seeing something different with the OCD [I relate] - There are contact glitches -sometimes- if things are right. I am using CaS exactly like you are and can dip to the click and not break a stride on the screen. There is occasion for the timer in Flite to...

@GI - yes, you can keep two of the yellow coils; move one capacitor, cut the trace, and use a momentary switch to the +IN terminal. You can use the -IN for the current carrying negative input. 18awg recommended.

12 awg magnet wire @GI . All great questions @Rei_Gado - Trace cut is only to allow the use of a low power switch on the positive trace. Completely optional for HalfPint. The standard -IN negative input connection is just fine. I remove the connector and the hole is too small. The...

@fak - That is an old laptop supply at 18.5V/4.5A and a DC-DC converter from China. That would be a poor-man's VVPS.

@sesh732 - We're working on something very special for power. In the meantime, there are several DIY option that don't cost much on eBay. Much simpler than building the IH itself. You need an 8 amp [or better] DC-DC converter and a power supply.

Correct @Prophecy . Induction heating is all about piling on heat, or technically, cumulatively piling on heat. PWM puts a pause in each cycle. This pause is realized as extended heating time, again, cumulatively. These is such a thing as too hot and too cold for heaters. A heater too hot...

BMS and parasitic power drain - should be none. There are two kinds of BMS. One that manages charging as if each cell is individual and another that makes sure that each cell is matched. The ladder will draw and use power as one cell sacrifices power to a 'lesser' cell. These are considered...
