I think that the diagram of the Anvil shows clearly why John calls this 95% convection. That chamber is entirely surrounded by air other than where it threads onto the device. Though I suppose that then raises the question of how long it takes the herb chamber walls to get to conduction...

Concur. For you would my idea of having just light and dark wood power supply options be sufficient? For me, I'm just not a light wood guy. So as long as it isn't so light, I'm all good. But we are talking about a $400+ device here. Don't think it is too much to ask for at minimum a dark wood...

I'll need to check just how airtight the ZAM and Anvil tubes are. Don't recall noticing any odor from either. And Anvil tube does have a nice combo of o-rings and threads

If I was looking for a lighter wood color, then I'd do that. And yet I am not. But now that I give it some thought, if doing a PSU in every wood isn't feasible, maybe a nice alternative option that would be more manageable would be having a light wood and dark wood option for PSU.
