The finish is surprisingly fine textured. Feels much like a very high quality matte enamel with a super fine grit. Not rough at all, but textured and nuanced enough to feel different. Nice one George!

Pure function? Identical. Utility? The Portside will travel pretty easily....not pocket size, but packable. The portability factor just raises the level. And just take it anywhere in the house with you. I live in a 3 level townhome, and use all three levels for living and much of my work...

In that case, I'm an odd one, because I swear by Doob Tubes for EDC when I'm out and about. Easy, keeps the grind fresh, discreet and very user friendly for loading various portables. :cheers:

You already have a short VC, and are getting another in the sandblasted M, so if price isn't the factor, go for the XL, just for the sake of experiencing it on your own terms. I have both, and they're all great. This level of discernment does NOT qualify for angst;)

Like @KeroZen has counseled on numerous occasions, stick with a known battery vendor. I only have experience with IMR, but I love their selection, pricing and service. Don’t get your batts from eBay or amazon

Follow up on the 14mm J-hook........I think this will be my go to for this device. Either size works great,, but I like the slightly smaller size of the 14mm ergonomically. Easier to modulate than anything else I've tried with the Flip.

These are the two pieces I use for vaping. Both handle deep lung pulls very well, with no water splashing. The 14's perc is just 4 holes, so it doesn't dampen the flavor too much. And Skittles likes the 14 also:clap:
