My advice was not to ignore any manufacturer’s warnings, but to learn the gear and concepts behind their systems. A device won’t overcharge because you have a PS of 3A when the device needs, say 1.5A. Like a light bulb on a household circuit, a 100 watt light bulb on a 15 amp circuit will draw...

NOT! Know your specs, your connector and polarity and use any quality PS you have access to. And remember to match voltage and polarity, and to at least match the current spec. You can use PS’s that have a higher current rating, as your device will only sip what it needs.
