Please don't use a PTFE ring under the hot plate. At that high a temp it will produce gasses that you don't want to inhale. And yes, we are working on a high temp model for all of you that like to red line your engines (metaphorically speaking). It will be a while till it sees the light of day.

If we find that problem during manufacturing, we use plan B. If you aren't comfortable making the slot then send the vapor cap to us and we'll fix it for you. I don't think using epoxy to bond a wrench to the screw will work in removing it.

We should have more J hooks in stock next week. We will be selling those from Grav Lab, which are the traditional shape. They are thicker than some I've seen but not as thick as those from Black Leaf. Black Leaf would have been nice but they are in the EU and shipping costs would have been too high.

The replacement hot plates are the same as the original and should act the same way. The internals of the vapor cap are changed and have been reworked from the 1st model to the present one. That's what cuts down on the scorching and should make it harder to get a red spot on the top plate...
