I usually charge my batteries inside my DNA devices, some have 3,2,1 batteries and I don't want to mix up the married pairs. I find my self doing both though with the Elite, it I just need a quick top up I'll plug into my laptop or an external charger. I must say I've REALLY been enjoying...

@RogueGuy I highly recommend flashing with FJ Firmware. You will be able to take advantage of temp control, log mode, and wattage with it. I have my splinter on an evic mini with FJ and it runs fantastic. Here’s a guide to get you started...
