Have you cleaned it? The pipe/stem? It sounds like there is a resin buildup in the pipe. I sometimes have to run a straightened paperclip through mine first, then a pipe cleaner. The paperclip will knock out gobs of resin at times, clearing the tube for the pipe cleaner.
