    Discontinued Pax Vaporizer by Ploom

@Jethro , @OregonStoner I'm almost positive that the authentic Pax used to be produced with a brushed aluminum finish, or "lines" in the past, but has recently changed. My authentic Pax (purchased a couple months ago from Ploom), and a couple others I've seen in person, as well as other...

    Discontinued Pax Vaporizer by Ploom

Whether or not the Pax wastes flower depends on the user, in my opinion. It does require a pretty decent amount of herb to fill the oven and function properly (.4-.5g normally, or .2-.3g using the screen method.) So if you don't plan to make use of all that you put in the oven within two or...

    Discontinued The Firefly Vaporizer

Yeah, but the Pax is wayyy more restricted in terms of draw speed. Don't get me wrong, the Pax's draw method gives great results.. but for someone looking to be able to directly inhale at a moderate speed, the FF lets you pull pretty hard. I agree with you though, it does make your lungs work a bit.

    Discontinued Pax Vaporizer by Ploom

Nope, after wiping with iso I just set everything aside for a couple minutes to let fully dry before reassembling. Its usually all dry by the time I finish applying the MP lubricant (my last step)

Completely agreed, I don't think that's excessive. I clean/lube it after every 3-4 ovens. If it's cleaned often, the performance and taste is preserved, and each cleaning is much less intensive compared to letting gunk build up. You can also keep the oven/screen looking nice with frequent...

    Discontinued Pax Vaporizer by Ploom

Did you go straight from smoking/combusting to vaping? If so, I can relate to your situation. I noticed the same heat, and even when I raised my arms, or worked out, it was there. I asked my doctor about it in a recent physical, and he told me it's most likely my lungs trying to repair...

    Discontinued Pax Vaporizer by Ploom

I'd like to discuss the "screen trick" / placing a screen in the oven to act as a spacer in order to use less bud. My main reason for doing it, is that when I take long sessions, the most I can get is two full sessions with a stir between, otherwise it gets so dark and the taste isnt worth it...

    Discontinued The Firefly Vaporizer

I would just like to update on my "dusty crumbly bud combustion" issue I've been having with the FireFly. The herb I get is always a very dry, commercial product. Potent and seedless yes, but it has been causing dust and crumbs to penetrate the screen/edges and fall into the core. However, with...

    Discontinued Pax Vaporizer by Ploom

Quick question on an issue I'm having, sorry if it's already been covered: I'm finding that occasionally during my cleaning when I run a pipe cleaner dampened with ISO through the vapor tube, the Pax will start to display the purple light and begin to heat up. The only way to get it to stop...

    Discontinued The Firefly Vaporizer

By shaken, do you mean giving it a few taps on the side to mix up the herb a bit? That's what I've naturally come to do once I started using the FF. Seems to work well. Tapping/shaking the unit has no known problem-causing effects I assume? @natural farmer I can speak for the Pax when I say it...

    Discontinued The Firefly Vaporizer

I ordered mine too and am wondering something: I store my herb inside a sandwich baggie, which is then inside a hermetically sealed glass jar. Are these humidifier pads (or any other humidifying agent) supposed to be inside the baggie, as close to the herb as possible? Or is inside the jar...

    Discontinued Pax Vaporizer by Ploom

It certainly gets the job done anywhere, very quickly. Click on, enjoy, click off. It stays cool even after heavy use (except right on the bottom) so its easy to just throw in the pocket afterwards. As far as smell, in my experience it is only an issue while the herb is being cooked. When it...

    Discontinued The Firefly Vaporizer

I considered it, but then worried about the extreme nicotene buzz I would recieve from vaping tobacco, being a non-smoker. As an alternative, I've successfully tried vaping several different organic aromatherapy herbs like Damiana, Raspberry Leaf, Thyme, and Green Tea with some good-tasting (and...

    Discontinued The Firefly Vaporizer

The only two vapes I've owned since I started vaping a couple months ago have been the Pax and FireFly. (I started out with Pax.) After getting the hang of the FF pretty well these past couple weeks, I can say this, one will not entirely replace the other. I find them to be two entirely...

Would a piece of bread work also? Without adding any scent or taste effects? Lol. It works wonders for dry cookies.. :p

    Discontinued The Firefly Vaporizer

@Wizsteve thanks for the screen suggestion. Thats one awesome super-fine screen. I'll definitely look into it. However, I have two magic words: Lemon peels. I left a small sample of herb in a jar with a lemon peel for 3 hours, and the herb moistened and fluffed pretty drastically. (My herb is a...

    Discontinued The Firefly Vaporizer

@mitchgo61 , thanks, wow. I have yet to really examine the screen. It wasnt in there very well, it moves so easily. I was able to pry that one, and insert anew. When putting in a new screen I get it flush/under, finish the session with good pulls/mixing, no visible debris. But when I use brush...

People! Thanks for the feedback. And so quickly, too. Awesome. :) I'm for sure going to experiment with humidifying my herb for use in the FF to avoid super-fine particles.. Either with the lemon peel, or those Humidipaks (which I have heard about, in passing) Ill set portions aside and try...

    Discontinued The Firefly Vaporizer

Greetings people! Newbie poster here, long-time toker, switched to vapor 1 month ago. It's been awesome. No matter what vape I ever use for the rest of my life, I'm done combusting. Like, forever. Mission accomplished :) I'm here because I'd like to report on my experiences with the Firefly...
