What metals would be rubbing together to cause scratches? Do you use a metal brush of some kind to clean the vapor tube?

Lately I've ran into a funny situation, but it's simultaneously not funny at all. The past two times I've ran outside on the stoop for a Pax session, when I pop open the mouthpiece with my thumb, if I don't do it slowly and carefully, the mouthpiece shoots right off of it and gets flung across...

What does that mean? Are you using moist or improperly cured herb? The pax requires fully dried, finely ground herb to function properly.

Mine turns a lovely shade of green :leaf: :D But yeah when it builds up it can get pretty dark and gunky. Best to give it a wipe every so often as @mitchgo61 pointed out.

Cool, that explains a lot. I had a pretty good feeling that the top plate was not meant to be removed for routine maintenance.. which makes me glad. I used a little rolled up iso-paper towel and got the inside of the mouthpiece pretty shiny, there wasn't much residue in there. I suppose that's...

So it's coming cleaning time for the Fly.. After ~2 months of regular use, I've gotten by with iso-wiping the surface areas, including removing the screen and cleaning the plate. This keeps it in seemingly good shape, but I'm wondering if I need to get more thorough. The manual says that to...

I completely respect that. Having only tried two vaporizers, I'm definitely not an authority on flavor. There are just so many things I enjoy about the FF that flavor is not on the top of my list, nor was it a top priority for me. Perhaps if I had more to compare it to, I would truly see how...

I agree on the flavor. While it's undeniable the FF gives off "alot" of flavor and taste.. To me, it's not necessarily "good" taste. With my regular commercial grade strain I get a pungent, earthy, planty taste which is neither good nor bad. With a more exotic strain, I've noticed a slightly...

I'm pretty sure it's okay to run it for long sessions like that, as far as I know. Especially if you're not getting a temp light warning. Mine gets hotter usually on my second session with the same oven-load, but never too hot to hold, and it cools down quickly. One thing to be cautious of, is...

@spacelooper , I don't personally know what the draw method is on the Solo... But with the Pax, you should take slow, gentle micro hits and gradually fill your lungs on the draw. Almost like puffing a cigar, only you inhale. Pax is not best for directly pulling all in one hit. You should sip...

@Resinberg, I regularly use Pax twice, maybe three times a day, and from click-on to click-off is about 5-7 minutes, but a session can be quicker, or longer than that. A half-packed oven with a rolled up screen lasts me two solid sessions with 1 stir in between. The battery life is ridiculously...

@imasinner Wowww, that's crazy. Thanks for sharing. Sorry to hear about the incident but I applaud your attitude on the situation. So awesome to hear the Pax came to your rescue :D I've always considered Pax to be a life-saver ever since day 1 of owning it.. But that right there is putting a...

Moving from a medium grind to a fine grind (with a trusty topscreen) changed my entire Firefly game. I do still hand-grind, not to dust, but just fine. When using a medium grind, I experience much more resistance, "heat tunneling", and general lack of extraction. Im no expert, but from what...

Are you still using a screen at the bottom, resting directly on the metal plate so fine particles don't make their way into the core? I can see how wedging a screen in there like that would make a decent seal, but perhaps the most important reason the screen is supposed to go on the plate is to...

@masaki just curious, what type of grind consistency are you using? (Medium, fine, super-fine?) How full do you pack the bowl? And do you firmly or loosely pack it?

After how long of a session? And are you doing back to back sessions? Ive noticed it retains heat very well until its pushed in a long session (20+ draws), or in back to back sessions where its unable to cool down. Remember that your inhale should be half on, half off. Meaning drawing while...

I've had to get to know my draw again since I started using a top screen and a fine grind. At first I was getting huge, assaulting hits using the same hard pull as for a medium grind. But now with a fine grind I can chill the heck out on my draw, and still get a dense, tasty hit without feeling...

The top screen method is really something. I loaded my first finely ground, fully packed bowl with a Firefly screen on top.. and wow. The screen does a phenomenal job granting airflow and preventing any clutter on the top window or the airways.. but DAMN.. the hits were so huge and concentrated...
