My IFTTT recipe for togging on the hour works 95% of the time. My WeMo is only one room away from the router so I wonder if that is where most people are having issues. It could also be your ISP as well. I don't know if IFTTT will confirm if the signal actually made it. I somehow doubt it.

Just toggle you IFTTT recipe on and off as needed. The Web interface on a mobile phone works decently well. I am not worried about cycling my cloud on and off for days at a time. It is under warranty and I have my original as a backup.

Welcome to the club. Now if only the WeMo Android app supported widgets and/or there was an IFTTT app with widgets. That would make it super awesome. You could even get a program like tasker or AutomateIt on Android and set it up so that when you leave work it turns on your cloud automagically.
