Mr. Me, that is an excellent idea. I think it would be very beneficial for everyone still waiting for their hoppers, including me (June 2015 preorder) to be able to gather some info on how many warranty issues are in play. And possibly to compile a sort of histogram of types of warranty issues...

You say, "by a 1/4th", I assume you mean make it 25% shorter, and that would be just about right, IMO. The thing is to not have it SO short that the whole tool then rotates through the ring.

Actually that CAD Lois pretty good. I don't think the scraper will get stuck; I'd say that it all depends on the ring. And you know, there may be a ring size that is problematic, but for the most part the radius of the scraper will either pass under the ring or simply not pass under it (& so...

It's not the outside, its the inside of the unit.... If water or moisture is allowed to seep in, it will corrode the non-stainless steel metals (electrical contacts) inside. I doubt very much they use gold for the contacts, probably nickel-plate at best.

Yeah, I never tried the Mighty; The laws of coincidence drove me to the Pax 1; it came out a week after I did the Volcano. And I do love my Pax 2--- the draw sucks sometimes but it's a damn good reliable product. Frankly it's been so long since that Volcano experience that I just imagine that...
