@Mr. Me2 , Congrats! I hope you experience only good things with your hopper. I'd like to know if this is worth any use to anyone - I'm not even sure it's of use to me, yet, but just came across this.... And at the outset, I apologize for the verbosity; I can't figure how to say this briefly...

Yeah, good idea. I should've thought of that, especially after three years of cleaning my Pax that way! After some time, I will want to remove that screen and see how much resin is deposited on the inside of the convex point of the mouthpiece. I'm sure the tweezers are the "correct" type...

Mr. Me, I just did this last night because I was getting draw resistance and realized it was the mouthpiece screen. While I was at it, I used a precision Qtip to get at the outside perimeter of the screen - the outside rim that looks like it exactly seats itself against the chamber rim...

Had an interesting observation tonite: I just got a few more batteries from HL. I decided for some reason to check them in the hopper. But before doing so, checked the battery level in my UM20. They were all at least 97%. Fine. So I screwed them in one at a time, and sonofabitch, one of...

Ah ok, I understand where now, the rim around the PCB. That is a huge gob. I have had my hopper for about 3 weeks, use it a dozen times or more a day, but don't get any gunk in that section at all. Is it too soon to tell? I mean, for example is your hopper older?

Wow!! OK; man this is hard to assess :) If all these "dark spots" (not just on your photos but others' too!) aren't gunk but are really just silver - that is, if they are all "clean" - then... what were we talking about again? :hmm: Don't mean to be flippant, certainly.

Just to be sure I understood... the pics in this post: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/the-grasshopper.18482/page-442#post-1010731 The dark spots in the "grid" is from lighting and is not gunk or other matter??

These are great pictures! Sorry you're going through this with HL, what a nut-twister. That first pic looks like the plating in the center of the contact is actually worn away and what's left is the "bare metal" (whatever it is) under the gold (if that's what it is) plating. This is more...

Ditto on my Ti. Grid-pattern. If it's plating (and it looks too fragile to be brass or copper, but the backend contact doesn't seem plated to me... anybody? @MoltenTiger , I would like to make a very ardent apology to you. You are correct and I am blind with a touch of lazy. I took the...

Not sure I'm getting the subtext there, but I am turning the temp dial and the contact doesn't turn. Maybe yours does, but mine does not. PERHAPS it is turning when you screw on the backend, but it isn't turning once it's tightened down. And yes, my device is performing better than ever.

The battery does not turn when you turn the dial. If you take the backend off and turn the dial while looking at the backend contact, it does not turn. But some wise person on this forum a while ago mentioned that when he/she loads the battery, it is done "upside down" or at least sideways, to...

Definitely Warranty time. I also hope and suspect this is a one- off problem.

That definitely looks like mystery gunk in the center of the contact... Are those "crescent" shapes at approximately at the 7 and 9 O'Clock positions actually chunks of contact missing, or is it just more gunk?

Actually, you know, I don't think that the stuff is meant for very regular use. It's a restorative process. And then only to be maintained. So as I have stood corrected that, because these are "new" devices, there is no need to "restore" the contacts with the D solution. However, perhaps the...

Whoa whoa! hahaha... I can understand the concerns, and we all know everyone needs to come to their own conclusions. Though having the topic referenced in the Fix Resource is probably just good to have! You know, I just don't think you can go wrong with even a sparing application frequency...

I hear ya.... To be clear, I wouldn't even think of cleaning it again with D or G for a while... for the meanwhile I'll just use ISO. Unless someone can analyze the material that comes off after application of DetoxIT, I am going by what it says, that you're removing oxidation that's been...

I can say with no exaggeration that so far, one one battery, on T4, I have: -Vaped a pinch of Indica last night before bed (re my post gushing about the new performance). -Emptied this morning and have vaped one full fluffy chamber to ABV perfection. - Am currently vaping a second similar sized...

Haha yes, absolutely no battle :) This is clearly a learning experience for all of us. But put butter on the popcorn for more flavor :) Monkey I do appreciate your inputs; while I wouldn't put this stuff in my eyes or on my tongue, and I have spoken with techs who aren't "safety experts"...

To answer, @AtomicPB , No, I haven't asked HL about DetoxIT and don't think I will be! I get that the reason would be to help, but given my sense of HL, methinks I'll let them figure that out for themselves. Because, who knows, they might feel they know more about their product than the...

Damn, I've read all the stuff and hadn't seen that particular blurb on the D being for "severe" oxidation. Thanks for setting me straight, Vapor. This stuff is awesome though. Actually I used a regular Qtip, for the "drying" of the inside contact because I wanted to get more surface area...
