Vapor and Me, glad you posted those thoughts, cuz I've been wondering about this... especially the clogged screen idea... Even with a fluffy grind, isn't there some fine stuff (keef, even) peppering its way down past that screen? And what, it just "burns off" on the heating element? I wish I...

Well, now that I've done it once, I'll have to keep it up. On the other hand, based on what could go wrong, I'm gonna order a spare MP.

Yep, Mule, it's like you said. I at first thought the screen would "reduce" down to just a screen, but it's a permanent attachment to that funnel-shaped thing that serves to pass all the vapor right to the little hole at the MP. Am I right here? You can't (or wouldn't want to) take those...

Volt, you have every reason and right to call them a failure in your book. They failed you. Perhaps, I don't know, can you call them on the three-times-a-charm thing and say you just want out of this altogether. That's how much of a failure it would feel like to me.... I would want out. And...

I think I'm screwed.... This mouthpiece has taken an hour of my time and it's now "almost out" but totally seized at the last few turns. I had to put this fucker in hot water to get it loose, and I hadn't realized that Titanium and Stainless Steel have different coefficients of thermal...

Oh that was a nice big dose of help!! Now I feel equipped to attack this sucker... it hasn't been removed at all because I couldn't budge it! Now I'm on a mission. Thank you! ABsoFRIGginLUTEly! That looks good. I never thought of using the clicker to punch in the herb.

There won't be any Ti oxidation at the mouthpiece thread end. Oxidation occurs under voltage/current conditions. But I know what you mean about the metallic taste... I have no other convection experience so I can't compare it to other similar vapes, but I don't recall ever getting that taste...

Rag, a good point you made: it's a good idea for users of new hoppers to take note of that contact and watch for changes in its appearance. FWIW, although I have a new Ti body, the "old" one that was just a month old and had about 90 battery changes (not including innumerable futzing) in that...

NEW BODY ARRIVED yesterday. It is a perfect match in both color and fit. I wish I had a macro camera to get a shot of the inside contact, because I'm wondering if it is different. But (and I can't believe I'm saying this), the back end runs completely cool, and the battery life is damn good...

Excellent input on what that contact is made of! All well, then, Vape... I'd still consider that the large surface area of the back contact versus the very small surface area (i.e., like a point) at the positive battery terminal is going to cause the battery to turn. Whether the wearing down...

OK... IMO I think that is going too long. For me that would equate to about 4 -5 days of use, and I haven't gone more than 2 days to at least wipe (no treatment) all items with a Q-Tip. Me, I wipe the threads like I'd use a Q-Tip on my ears, just swirl it a few times against the mating threads...

Have you read the Fix Resource thread? http://fuckcombustion.com/resources/grasshopper-fixes.11/ Regarding that picture of the backend contact gunk.... how long had it been since you cleaned that contact? Or, "how many battery changes", whichever is easiest to estimate... I don't know how...

I just had a conversation with a Metallurgical Engineer from a company that specializes in dissimilar metals, hybrid metals, and general metal work for hi-tech industry. I've known him for years. He's one of the first people who've perfected the science of "explosion bonding" (...

To both of your well-stated points: I have been thinking I'm headed toward another VAS episode, but yes, when it comes to portable - and when it's working well - the hopper is really incredible. Over the past 3 days, I don't know why this is, but, the current "swap" I have going on with my...

Jeeziz I go offline for 2 days and I can't keep up! I'm sorry to hear about these sudden failures - Seems these blue/red sensor overload lights are all the rage. I had one during the week. 24 hours later Caroline shipped a replacement body so we'll see... I hope we can all just screw...

Thanks Me.... Well this is the first time I've heard of the "log". lol I thought you were telling me to go back to rolling. I've resisted looking into the larger vapes, mainly because, well, what would that say about me!! hahaha But after a few years of having the medication I've had...

I think this is how VAS begins... as only having owned the Pax before the hopper, I'm starting to be curious about other vapes now. Not to replace my enthusiasm for the hopper, though I do tire of second guessing my technique and changing batteries all day. It's good to know, though, that...

Absolutely, that's why I like it here so much... And I just thought it was OCD. But it's not... It's SCIENCE!! :haw: Wait, wait... which side of the avocado do you jam the hopper into? I do have a serious question; I have no experience with vapes other than a one-time Volcano hit...

Thanks, Vapviking.... This is what happened here too... It works, it doesn't, the only way to spin the roulette wheel on the issue is by removing and replacing the backend... a pain in the arse... 5 out of 10 times it might work, but then it goes through the same 50/50 chance every time you...
