The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

@Highland_UK: have you tried more than one strain yet? I've noticed big differences in vapor production between strains - some produce tons of tasty vapor @ 165ºC, while others seem to need higher temps. another trick is to let the unit 'cook' for 30 sec. or so after it gets to the target temp...

    Future "not vaping"

they don't want any connection to weed, so they don't want to call it vaping (even though it looks like that's exactly what it is; and selling new products famously uses the concept of 'NEW!' (when in fact it's probably nothing of the sort). I find this pretty entertaining actually: big tobacco...

    The Firefly 2 vaporizer

I absolutely get what you're saying about how much time it takes to research vapes. I've been following this thread since early on and I think that the consensus is that it's not the stealthiest vape (grasshopper seems to win this one, but its downside is - supposedly, I haven't used one -...

    The Firefly 2 vaporizer

sorry to hear all this. I tend to try to solve problems (women hate it...), so here's my idea: - if you know someone who vapes, and whose opinion you respect, put all the cards on the table: you have a new unit that, acc. to the mfr. will burn off its chemical smell with some use. due to your...

    The Firefly 2 vaporizer

from the article: "The Pax 2 takes about 40 seconds longer than the Firefly2 to reach temperature, and uses conduction heating, which means it burns the material directly. By comparison, the Firefly2 uses convention material, passing hot air over it. Some pot bloggers suggest this technology...

I think you'll find that, unlike the Crafty, Mighty owners haven't had a worrisome rate of battery issues.

    1. since you're not using a scale, it's hard to say, but I find that .1g is about right for a load. use the liquid pad on top if it's less than that. 2. I tend to get 8-9 draws from .1g. 2 draws from .3g? = something's not right there... 3. in general you should wait until it reaches temperature...

gotta love the near-total absence of 'learning curve' of this thing, huh? - 1.insert weed, normal grind 2.turn on 3.vape 4.woo-hoo!

some people have reported that's it's easy to scratch. I tend to baby mine, so it hasn't been an issue.

you probably don't want to read 297 pages of posts, but I've read most if not all of it and, unlike the crafty thread, there are very few people who've had issues. you're right about the net's tendency to highlight the negative though - given the 1000's of craftys that have been sold, maybe...

I think you'll find that the cleaning is only a minor PIA, and only has to be done once in a while (YMMV). another thing people haven't mentioned much, if at all, about your options: no smart phone required w/mighty, unlike both crafty and FF2. enjoy your new friend!

Crafty: too many reliability issues, especially combined with a short (2 year) guarantee. some people have gone through multiple units before eventually trading them in for a mighty. FF2: it's new, so users are still figuring out the technique, but it sounds like you have to stir every 3rd vape...

    The Firefly 2 vaporizer

thanks Reggie. I imagine that over time, people who own the FF2 and other highly-rated vapes will report back on possible differences in the high they deliver. 'clean' and 'functional' high sound like what people say in the 'vaping at different temps' thread when they talk about vaping at lower...

    The Firefly 2 vaporizer

you're the second person (at least) to mention this. any chance you could elaborate? I can understand different effects from different temperatures and/or strains, but I don't understand how, controlling for all the variables (same strain, same temp., same qty., same tolerance going in, etc.)...

    The Firefly 2 vaporizer

what about torching a pad to clean it (do not attempt while high)? you'd think the residue would turn to ash before the steel got damaged... oops. I just saw that darkrom already thought of this. steel can't be torched?

sounds about right. if I put in .1g of flower with the pad on top, I usually get 7-9 tasty hits, + another 1 or 2 if I bump it up.

The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

people recommend different techniques for concentrates (by themselves, not mixed w/flower): - on top of liquid pad (S&B's recommendation) - slice (somehow) a pad in half and put concentrate in the 'sandwich' - buy thinner concentrate pads made by (I forget which) a different maker, use them to...

The Mighty/Mighty+ by Storz & Bickel

you might want to read the crafty thread - it seems to have an unacceptably high failure rate, esp. for something with a 2 year guarantee. anecdotally, mighty's track record is better.
