You won't get a glow like you can with the Lotus. The Vapman is more "heat and draw" until you get vapor. It probably takes a little more practice...which is part of the fun. The Lotus is more sensory driven (taste, and heat)...unless you are using glass in which case it becomes visual as...

You should have plenty illumination to see what you're doing with the torch. It does require a little focus and dexterity, but isn't that big of a deal.

For me the Vapman has better flavor. Lotus is a close second. MFLB, yeah I have one of those too, but I gave up on it after getting into flame based vapes. It never impressed me with flavor. I'm thinking of trying the tooth pick trick. I've got some kief and reclaim I'm going to play with...

Anyone else find themselves disappointed by the Desolation of Smaug?

I'm no JRRT geek, but I know enough about the story to understand that much of this movie is filler that's not part of the actual story. With the LOTR I got it, a bunch of shit had to be left out because each of the movies would be six hours long if they followed the story literally. Just in...

    The Lotus Vaporizer

FWIW, I thought about getting the scoop, but after using both the WPA and aluminum stem for quite a while, I've found it's easiest to just scoop directly using the bowl itself. I keep tweezers to fine tune the load.

I'd recommend the Honest to any user who's a beginner w. a torch. It works well. It is a smaller flame so it may take a little longer to get things up to the desired temps, but it's also much more difficult to accidentally combust with. You can upgrade latter which will give you more time to...

CS, I'd buy a spare cap (just in case some calamity should make it's use necessary) The replacement plate is more of a "as needed" item. If you go back somewhere in this disucussion, you'll find some posts with pics of caps with plates that are in pretty beat up shape. I commented that my...

    FS or WTT: MFLB

Slightly used before I decided it wasn't for me and moved on to something else. I'd really like to get my hands on a smallish bubbler but would be open to other vapor related items or $ if someone wants it outright. Does $50 cash value sound reasonable? Feel free to haggle if you're so inclined.

The CVault - Climate Controlled Storage

Thanks for that link randybishop. Seems legit. Think I'll sample from the Cvault in a few weeks and see how it compares. This actually has me kind of stoked.

    The Lotus Vaporizer

If I were to be starting off all over again, I'd get one aluminum stem and a couple of J-hooks (because you will break them) along with the WPA. The J hooks rock and I'd use one all the time but the aluminum stem works much better for pocket carry and are indestructable.

Musicslv, yeah it's going to be pretty difficult to casually take a drag off of any torch based vape without seeking at least a little concealment. Of my three type of lighter vapes, I think the VM is the least crack-pipe like. Though lately I've been taking the teak vapor genie for a spin...

    Vapman

I don't recall any unusual odor when I started using mine, but yeah, it could be the wax gasing off or something I suppose. I do know that if you try to pack too much into the bowl, you'll likely have some weed dangling outside of the lunar capsule-like bowl/ filter assembly.....or whatever it's...

Comment meant only for steez factor. Mason jars have been around for >100 years so they gotta be doing something right.

The CVault - Climate Controlled Storage

You know, I'm seriously excited to see how having my buds in the Cvault will change their nature. By most peoples definition, what I have is over-dried, as I was deathly afraid of mold. But if I've read the reviews correctly, the humidity paks may impart more moisture and change the nature of...

Broke out the teak HC that's been unused for a few months. Definately a different experience than the other two vapes that I use frequently. My kid decided to enlist in the army, so had to give up one of life's simpler pleasures. He was a smoker and preferred this piece over the more refined...

The CVault - Climate Controlled Storage

Just started using a Cvault. Prior use of laboratory quality plastic ware ended with me having to multibag and store my buds in less than ideal locations due to oders. I was skeptical. The product looked over-hyped. But desperation and very good amazon.com reviews made me decide to go for it...

I use it reverse pistol style with the torch pointed down (at the Lotus cap) and using my trigger finger to depress the starter switch. It's very ergonomic. And these units work flawlessly.

A few lighter tips. When you bleed it, set it on a register or in the sun so that it warms up (but don 't let it get hot). You'll get a better empty tank this way. When filling, stick it the freezer to cool it. You'll get a more complete tank this way.

I know I've mentioned this before, but this lighter works much better than the Honests that I've acquired: http://www.miniinthebox.com/cigarette-cigar-pipe-torch-butane-lighter-black_p197973.html Actually, over time I've come to the conclusion that lighter quality is probably an over-looked...
