I guess there would be no "upside down" per se with a grasshopper. I've got a solo, and am always careful to hold it what feels like "upside down", to prevent loose bits from falling onto the oven. With the grasshopper, I guess I won't have to worry about that as much (if at all.) By the way...

It is small and cute. Not much volume to fill, either. I wonder about durability and the fact that it is a tree type (which some have said was less desirable.)

Yes, please! If the grasshopper team used their connections to source some right sized bubblers, ideally with a built-in silicon adapter so one could just pop the grasshopper in without the mouthpiece, I'd totally add it to my order. I bet a lot of people would. That would be a killer...

The solo bowl does get hot from conduction, but it don't think it is nearly hot enough to produce vapor. That only seems to happen when I draw heated air through the stem. Therefore, I'd say that the bulk of vapor production is due to convection. As to taste, I've never achieved better taste...

I agree that the FF has advantages. Stealth, portability, speed and it definitely looks cooler. I'm keeping mine for sure. I can actually use it fine, myself. But when I share with my wife, the solo works better. As for cleaning, you are right that the solo stems need a soak occasionally...
