Both my problem LSV's were silver. I think it really boils down to an urgent need for more rigid QC standards to be enforced on the LSVs. Literally everyone who buys an SSV seems to have no complaints once the learning curve is rounded in my experience, would be unfortunate if frequent continued...

I got an LSV with an extremely off centre element that wouldn't heat up enough to make thick vapour, it's the only difference between it and the replacement I received in it's place(CHE was exposed enough, not touching glass, etc), you may need a new LSV...
