Uh... there are some assumptions you make in there that are not valid.
:)
But, yeah, I think that a large percentage of Herbie owners are FC readers (I specify "readers" to include the lurkers that either don't have an account, or do, but don't post... I don't know if you'd count that as "in...
There is a difference (potentially) between the Stealth and the Carbon Fiber units: The Stealth was the first off of the production lines and has been in production ever since. The Carbon Fiber is a new edition.
So, someone can have a CF and there is NO chance of it being an "older unit."...
"Would you say we'd be venturing into a.... zone? A zone of.... danger?"
"Well, yes... obviously."
"No, but I mean, how would you phrase that?"
"I'd......... the zone would be one of danger??"
"No, I mean.... *sigh*... not if you'd say the... forget it.... NEVERMIND... and *you* nevermind...
Now that I think about it "Sonic the Herbiehog" neither sounds that great nor is accurate in the least...
:)
However, the Herbie does form a sphere relatively easy....
EDIT: And "Herbie the Hedgehog" just doesn't have that ring to it...
EDIT EDIT: Didn't we discuss whip-controled video...
I've switched to using the whip exclusively, just to test it out. Josh had suggested using the fan assist mode, which I was reluctant to do, associating that with some degree of waste. Or reserving fan-assist for bag usage only.
Yeah... I really like the whip now. It does move at a bit quicker...
Yikes! No. First off, make sure it is the right kind of alcohol. (not really directing this at @chester222, but anyone else reading this that might make this mistake) If you are talking 99%, then you are most likely talking isopropyl? I think the max one can find for the good, happy alcohol (for...
I'm going the tincture route.
That's also how I clean my stems.
Lana, call Kenny Loggins... 'cuz you're in the Danger Zone.
What a delightfully thorough [EDIT for misspelling thorough] post. A few point I had you went ahead and made later in the post.
I will say, that I, personally, don't...
@KeroZen - Welcome and thanks for your review. A lot of good stuff in there.
(And I'm especially fond of the part where you said you actually read the thread before posting. Oh, the novelty of that thought!! :p )
The biggest uphill battle I have is trying to re-edumacate the...
Sheeesh!! I know some people complain about the fan (doesn't bother me), but that's a little extreme to put the herbie 12 feet away in another room!
:P
Thanks for the update! Glad to see we didn't scare you off. ;)
I'm surprised this thread hasn't lit up with responses, but I guess it's only been 15 min...
:P
Unless I mis-understand this the process, there is no money to "get back." The backers have not bought a product, but, rather, funded a start up. If the start-up can make a product, it will give them to their backers. If not, it is not unlike funding a start-up company, but without a stake or...
I believe what people are reacting to is a set of expectations based on previous device-oriented experiences. This device seems, so far, to do extraction to unexpected levels (based on previous empirical observations).
So, I realize you both don't have one and, at the same time, are new to...
All figures are approximate. One measurement per sample.
Stock stem*:
Length 65.18mm
Outside stem diameter: 7.75mm
Inside diameter: 6.15mm
Wall thickness at base: 1.66mm
Flange diameter: 10.18mm
* Note: keep in mind they have changed the stem and might do so again. This sample is collected...
On the note of "over medication" with the Herbie:
There are a couple of theories. But, rather, I'm just going to relate personal experience here.
Let's get anecdotal.
So, this being a new device to me, I'm playing around with a lot of things I wouldn't necessarily engage in... testing "edge...
I have them both. I find the only difference is in the feel of it, so, personal choice...
[EDIT: Realize I didn't address the question you asked, but the question of "which is better for replacing the stock stem?" If that's all you are doing, then either is fine, will feel more sturdy/solid...
