    The Magic-Flight Box

Just thought I'd check in on this thread, being the proud new owner of a genuine MFLB (having retired my cheap plastic knock-off).

Fix loose or poorly welded screen on MFLB knock-offs

Yes, it does. Quite out of character for both my personality as well as my avatar. You'll all be happy to know that I have acquired a genuine MFLB and retired the Dragon Lite.

    Discontinued Dragon Lite Portable

Having sufficiently tarnished my reputation by not only repairing one of these things, but also sharing about it here on FC, perhaps I can partially redeem myself by announcing that I have since acquired a genuine Magic-Flight Launch Box. The difference in quality between the two devices is...

    Ascent Vaporizer by DaVinci

Have you tried just dropping a chunk in the oven, whole? Or adding a fine screen in the bottom, and then adding crumbled? I haven't seen that particular variety of 'concentrate' since my old combustion days , so I can't imagine how messy it would or wouldn't get in a vape.

    Ascent Vaporizer by DaVinci

In my case, the Ascent is my daily driver. Well, split between the Ascent and a cheap MFLB knock-off (soon to be genuine MFLB; awaiting USPS delivery on that piece :p). I like that it holds enough that I can fill it up once and get several sessions out of it. It does take some mental adjustment...

    Ascent Vaporizer by DaVinci

I'd say give it the full ten hours the manufacturer recommends. It may or may not really need that long, but better safe than sorry. It won't harm it, anyway (while routine overcharging is not recommended, rare and occasional overcharging is unlikely to have a significant impact on overall...

    Ascent Vaporizer by DaVinci

(didn't notice your photo when I replied about battery charging, @slayerx390 - sorry) Mine is like that too. It's very slight, and I wouldn't be concerned. I never noticed until you mentioned it, so I looked at mine. I've had mine since January and not had a problem with it. Interesting that it...

    Ascent Vaporizer by DaVinci

I've had mine for a while now. I vaguely remember that it indicated a full charge rather quickly the first time I plugged it in, but I charged it overnight. Not only because the instructions said to, but because it is "best practices" for first-time use of lithium-based rechargeable batteries...

    Ascent Vaporizer by DaVinci

Define "perfecty". What level of precision are you expecting? Alignment seems OK on mine by casual visual observation, but perhaps if I were more critical, it might not be perfect. In any case, i have no performance issues with mine, and I'm quite satisfied with the cosmetic "fit and finish" of...

    Discontinued Dragon Lite Portable

Well, I couldn't detect anything off. That's not to say there aren't odorless & tasteless nasties being released, but the basic glue, AFAIK, is totally non-toxic, and of course the carbon isn't likely to evaporate either. Also, with this style vape, the screen heats up down in the trench, but...

    Discontinued Dragon Lite Portable

I've come up with a fairly easy fix for the poorly-welded screen on my Dragon Lite. Wasn't sure where to post it as it isn't really model-specific, but applies to all MFLB-style vapes. I decided to post it in DIY and link back from here. Hope it helps somebody! Post is here: Fix loose or...

Fix loose or poorly welded screen on MFLB knock-offs

(Not sure if this is the right place - I didn't see a place specifically for repairs, so "DIY" seemed appropriate. It can also be linked back to from relevant device-specific threads) I picked up a DragonLite (MFLB knock-off) before I'd discovered FC and knew any better. It actually isn't...

    Ascent Vaporizer by DaVinci

Possibly, but at the temperatures we're working with (<500 degrees F) it's not an issue. Not better - just different. It isn't so much the materia as the form factor and usage. The glass beads and flowers used by many Ascent owners primarily serve the purpose of occupying space (for those...

    Ascent Vaporizer by DaVinci

Good idea! For that matter, all four could be tied together as a single unit. OTOH, leaving them loose allows adjustment for varying load size -- just add additional layers (pairs of screens) to the stack as needed.

    Ascent Vaporizer by DaVinci

Once again I've stayed away from FC for too long. Spent hours catching up on this thread. I'll do a few replies first, and then I have an exciting new variation on the glass flowers to share. First I've heard of this unit. While I'm not currently in the market, looks nice, especially for a...

    The Ubie

Wow... it's been two months since... And finally I return with my report. I really really wanted to like this. I tend to appreciate simple elegance. Or is it elegant simplicity? OTOH, Wasn't it Einstein who said things should be made "as simple as possible, but not simpler"? Anyhow, I just...

    ABV. Worth your effort?

I like making coconut oil out of my ABV - but use a simplified manual method. As a lover of technology and kitchen gadgets, I've seen (and drooled over) the Magic Butter machine, and almost pulled the trigger a couple times. What's holding me back is the size of the unit. I tend to make...

    ABV. Worth your effort?

Actually, no. The chemicals we are interested in are soluble in fats. For our digestive system to get them into our bloodstream, they must be in the fat. While you could just eat the plant material, the absorption would be minimal. When dissolved in fat, they are much more efficiently absorbed...

    ABV. Worth your effort?

Believe it or not, it's hardly noticeable, at least to me. You're just sprinkling a bit on - maybe 1/4 - 1/2 tsp per slice - not saturating it. Granted, everybody's taste buds are different, and YMMV, but I'd say it's worth a try, at least. Worst case you waste a slice of leftover pizza and a...

    ABV. Worth your effort?

The absolute easiest way to use ABV (and I'm surprised nobody's mentioned it yet in this thread) is on reheated leftover PIZZA. Just follow these simple steps: Sprinkle ABV on slice of leftover pizza. Reheat in microwave or toaster Oven. Enjoy! That really is all it takes! It's only good for...
