Nope. Simplistically, the heater is connected to, and controlled by the board. I would assume the resistance of the coil is measured by the board to approximate a temperature (Google TCR) the brains adjust the power the heater is recieving to compensate for a reduction or increase in temperature...

That's impressive! The 1.7 was the most comfortable vape I've ever used, had to imagine it gets better! Fwiw, I used to run my 1.7 at 530 for a medium roast, I don't like to take it too dark.

That looks like the one that goes between the glass liner and the top plate mate. 👍

Yeah, it sounds like bad batteries or bad contacts. Try lifting the spring at the bottom of the battery chamber a little, and also loosen the screw slightly, give the top plate a wiggle back and forth, then tighten back up again.
