I feel like I remember a few other people mentioning cracked plates, but maybe I'm wrong. Think there's any sort of risk using the plate while it's cracked?

I've decreased the size of the circle I make around the middle of the plate, with the lighter, to a very very tiny circle. Im getting some of my biggest and tastiest Lotus hits this way, and so far no combustion :2c:

My honest lighter works first click 95% of the time I'd say. I've been extremely pleased with it so far. I use Vector butane as well.

You should have a look at the cheap bubbler thread in the glass forum. I usually vape dry because I like a little burn in my throat (old habits die hard), but when I run the Lotus through a bubbler I can't hardly feel the hit in my throat at all.

I got that piece from a local head shop. I wish I had a link for you guys because it really is a perfect piece for the Lotus. The hole is pretty small at the top, but I think that helps with the air flow.
