    Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

Both my units have a continuum pretty much like the above. I'm still experimenting, but it's looking like 1:30 will be the sweet spot. I'd go lower for better taste but my herb quality is just not that great, so I just go for max extraction, at ~1:30-2:00, with maybe a last scrape-the-barrel...

Try adjusting or increasing the size of your load. My units' whistle disappears with a loaded ELB in.

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

IMO the elbow-pack does not work as well as the Cyclone with the bag. Getting good bag results means stirring because of the hot spot, and I don't like doing that repeatedly with the elbow. About 3 very strong hits is not unusual with the elbow-pack; my lungs aren't that strong so I used to...

    Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

The bamboo fall within a tight tolerance range. Each one is inspected as you describe. However, there was a manufacturing issue that resulted in a small number of out of spec bamboo getting by QA. That was resolved. All the units I have used have been consistent. It is true that in-spec...

It could be the new firmware. It makes the range across the dial more linear, so it's possible that a temp at a given point on the dial is now at a different point. (Of course, this doesn't eliminate the possibility that it also ran hot.)

    Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

Allow me to theorize that the differences in performance being seen is not just a matter of heat, promixity to heat source, or other factors we are familiar with in how vapes typically work. The Cloud OG and now much more the EVO, appear to be designed around the objective of what I would call...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

No, you cannot use the ALT version (w/o modifying it) because the center handle is too large to pass through the Q's opening, preventing the adapter from seating properly on the heater. The Tuff Bowl is simply the Cyclone with an additional protective covering (don't recall offhand, might be...

    Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

This came up in an earlier discussion with SM. The somewhat dull red glow around the bamboo is normal and expected. My understanding is that the heater does not come into direct contact with the glass, which is important to allow for expansion/contraction.

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

You're post is more than OK. :) The thumbnails on that listing enlarge pretty well. The horizontal pic is easier to see into. The vertical pic, I'm just not sure of because of light refraction and the angle of the shot. It looks to me very similar to the piece sold by ALT (but obviously w/o...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

DDave, you're the expert on this so I readily bow to your observation. But tell me please how you can determine from the pic that the center ring is probably solid. When I look at the piece vertically it appears the ring is solid, but couldn't there still be an indentation that acts as the...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Probably will work. There are 2 prerequisites: The diameter of the "handle" at the center must be narrow enough to clear the Q opening, which appears so. The second is that the inside of the center handle must have a "ledge" of sorts that a screen can rest on; you can't see that in the pic...

    The Extreme-Q Vaporizer

Personally, instead I would either go with DDave's f/f adapter w/screen or Seek's mod using the Cloud ELB, both of which IMO will perform better. Some have added the SSV wand to DDave's mod, but I've seen excellent results just using it with the stock elbow/screen. As long as you've let the...

    The Cloud EVO Anticipation Thread

Go back to page 41 for SM's announcement and then follow the thread from there looking for posts by Troi. IIRC the IGG North American contributor shipments should be complete early this coming week, International by ~end of month. Pre-Orders will follow, but I don't recall seeing any...

    Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

My early OG does not and never did tick. I fired it up today just for the hell of it, first time in months. I'd forgotten how much heft it has. But IMO my EVO is a whole step up. I had thought that I would sell the OG once I got the EVO, but I've decided against that. After all, it still...

    The Cloud EVO Anticipation Thread

Whose hype? By far and away all the positive feedback has come from new owners. Too bad your friends don't know what "crowd sourcing" means. Perhaps you could school them, including the fact that the contributors are funding a product (or whatever) that does not yet exist. That's the whole...

    Discontinued VapeXhale Cloud EVO

A clogged ELB will restrict the airflow and bowl turbulence, so the heat and extraction will be less. I would think though that it would have to be mighty clogged to suppress vapor production when set at max. What setting on the dial have you been using before with that filthy ELB? EDIT...

    Best glass for Cloud?

I sold my 60's. The stemless stereo creates more drag, although it's more like sort of a soft barrier to punch through to get the flow going as opposed to a sustained restriction. But I like the dewar bubblers much more. The Micro Clear Reti & Matrix have near the same volume at the 60's but...
