Pretty damned psyched about getting a glass core. Now though, trying to decide if I'd be as well stumping up the extra cash and getting an AC kit, portable or just go the whole hog and get a second full kit.
Stupid BF sales :)
Looks like the time to finally bite the bullet and grab up a singular glass core. Have all the other bits with my Higher seated heater Teflon core. Works out a cool £150-£160.. Not to shabby!
For sale on the site my man.. The options that exist in the augmentation of the MV are limited only by your imagination. I use this one 99% of the time though.
Yeah they do. It's a 14mm GonG male connection.
This is the other side..
And yes.. That is a delicious lump
of golden-yellow MV reclaim.
Mains AC inversion. I use a reducer to mate to my water tool. Unless I use my fbomb.. uninverted 14 mm works fine on its own(without reducer/expander.
Mate the Hermes glass adapter with the ratchett song and they work a treat.. Will support a hydratube with battery or mains use. Will support itself inverted with mains.. But not so sturdily inverted with just the battery.
I've had that.. Was the part of the cable that connects to the MV AC puck that was dodgy. Replaced. Now I'm super careful to have the cable rest in use at all times when unit is placed down/reaching temperature.
I had the original steel cup solo and that shit produced plenty cloudage but was super restricted. I trained my lungs to get used to this and as such had no real issue. The MV? Free flowing as you like ime.
Around three or four weeks iirc.
I still haven't done anything further to my oddly placed heater.. My hybrid mv can really do the business though.
Hey @stickstones, you got info about placing the heater yets?
I suppose I did receive just the one free flaring rimmed basket when I received my current core after repair.
I only thought there were just the two sizes officially from Hermes.
I'll need to check out what I've got.
Also I've only ever ordered accessories once and that was a good long while ago...
I see you have the flat rimmed large basket. Anyone else got the version that has the rim that narrows inwards? The flared one allows for easier scooping of material.
I've had a few mv units now but the same battery.. Never experienced this issue.
Heat rises too so unless you were leaving your...
The Stainless rings hold heat between hits better so less priming (heating back up)of the load is needed.
As it adds an element of conduction into the mix it's the general consensus that the taste does suffer a slight hit.. Slight but noticeable. The small conductive element added by use of the...
Just two rings of differing size that can be fully or partly switched up for the related Teflon rings.
I'd highly recommend the MV as a home unit.. It's only semi portable imo.
Straight outta the box is setup dry.. Either with the small supplied straw or the flexicone plus. This can be done with either a direct chamber load(messier option) or baskets. For WT usage the easiest method is to use the sorta (basket module) flexicone with a herb filled basket capped with a...
