I have the thin gauge and imo it marries with a 14mm better then 18mm - but is absolutely fine in a 18mm.

As an alternative how about using a rubber sewing thimble on your thumb? It's reusable, will last years, wont leave sticky gunk on the switch and is bloomin' cheap :2c:

You can probably find rubbing alcohol from a pharmacy - it's used for cuts and is around 70% alcohol. I'm in the UK and get 99.9% ISO
