Thanks OD. Yup yours has the closed core design. If at any time in the future it needs to be altered it's a very simple process. And knock yourself out with the avatar pic. Looks good

I am plugging the glass beads at the bottom with solder to plug them closed. I'm not using anything else on the bottom as the glass beads fit snug. Personally I don't think it's a necessity but was trying to offer an option for those that may have issues with the exposed wood in the bottom of...

@Vorange. I have changed my short GonG stems to the same install. I use a longer insert in the Full Length stems - but the Short Stem insert will fit in the Full. @Wat. Ace :) Wat a small world ;) That track was a Youtube freebie.

HERE'S a bit of info on copper that will help of which the opening is: "Copper is a naturally occurring metallic element that occurs in soil at an average concentration of about 50 parts per million (ppm). It is present in all animals and plants and is an essential nutrient for humans and...

So, here's a vid I made. It shows the new wood stem head install and also a Wychwood Special that has the new core installed. It was going onto the website Special page but I kept for myself! Having VAS and making vapes might not have been the best idea  The Specials will be one-offs that...

Hi guys, This thread made me go back to the drawing board and try to come up with a closed core design with no bonding. This is what I came up with. I would love some feedback about the use of copper at the bottom of the path. I have tried looking up issues with copper used in this fashion...

Hey guys. Life's been a bit hectic the last week or so with non-Wychwood stuff and I'm just about getting back on track. I've been working on a closed core design, trying not to use any glues or silicones. I have one but I'm not sure if people will like it. I've knocked up 2 with the new design...

Just wanted to pop in and say a big thanks to Dave. I've been enjoying my Chilean Laurel Burl UD that I picked up for the Abysmal Cause. A really stunning piece of functional art

@Vitolo. Great vids :D That efficiency test vid was very surprising :o I might have to try a day of micro loads and see if it still keeps me 'on the level' still. @Stu. Loving the inline and the hydracirc looks like a lovely piece for huge rips :brow: it might be time to invest in some Joint...

@Stu. Great vid and loving the Mobius/ WW pair-up. Also, nice collection from the grinders :o On the cooler parts of the WW I use the wax like a crayon - 'scribble' the wax lightly on the lower part , then use a cloth and start by lightly buffing the WW. As you feel the wax layer smoothing out...

@Vorange. Thanks for the great review and pics V :D It looks like a nice pair-up with the EHLE. It's great to know that people new to Log Vapes can pick up the techniques so easily. Like you, my stirring frequency increases at the end of the bowl and I pack a bit tighter at the end for maximum...

I've been away for the last few days dealing with general life-ish bits-and-bobs and it's great to come back and see the action. Just to clarify - there are a few units in the US that I sent as testers and a few I bartered for other vapes or glass. Vitolo and Stu are two forum members that I...

@CDS. Thanks so much for the review and thanks for taking a punt on an untested maker. I am very pleased with the stems and, as you say, screen flipping is kept to a minimal - especially with the basic stem with it's 'locked-in' screen design. @FMG. As always thanks for the input. I got those...

Hey Wonderfox. Thanks so much for the kind words. I'm really glad that you've taken to your new WW :D The unit is designed to be left on 24/7 but will not suffer too badly by turning it off when not in use. I have a unit that I have been purposely doing this to for a few months and aside from...

I only have 4 intake holes in the base to restrict the air flow a bit. The WW does not get as hot as the HI so needs a bit of a slower draw speed - also takes longer to get up to operating temp - around 15mins as opposed to the HI's 5mins.

The airflow on the HI is less restricted by about 15% (approx). This is an intentional design on my part as that WW does not get quite as hot as the HI due to the extra mass of SS the WW carries. So, reducing the air flow a bit causes a slower draw allowing more time for the heat to penetrate...

In the interest of peoples concerns here's a diagram of how the internals of the WW are configured. I recently included the glass tube leading to the lower chamber to the design. This will reduce the chance of any wood particulate entering the airflow. The glass beads are purely for electrical...
