I use the ss filter - and it's perfect. I also have aJavajug, which is handy because it's graduated inside, so you can see how much hot water to add to make a cup, or a pitcher, of Americano. Plus the machine stores in the jug, so great for camping...

Try rubbing a piece of walnut on the walnut wood. Loads of oil in the nut. You can also use it on dings in hardwood flooring and furniture. I dunno why I didn't recall this... Other than we've been camping for 2 years and I've not really worried about fixing hardwood and stuff...
