Sorry I didn't mean to give the impression that the technical aspects were not observable just that the experience is different from one person to another, so different individuals are likely to rate a vape high differently from a combustion high in spite of what the studies say.

Most folks end up with an external regulator of some sort there is a portion of the thread back on page 959 that might be relevant to your situation.

Laying on its side with the hot end not in contact with the plastic, I do it all the time.

Not unless you put the hot end of the stem in contact with the plastic. Most folks are smart enough not to do that.
