It has to be a bad cap. Using my weakest single flame torch takes about 10-12 secs on a SS tip.

How in the world are you able to heat the cap for 40-50 seconds with a torch? You don't mention the heat up click at all just the cool down click. If I heated my vapcaps for that long not only would the load combust the cap would be glowing red. A video or it's not real.
