I don't like to recommend something that isn't like the FC-UFO. Modular pieces are best for the first piece because you can get multiple different uses out of it. It's pretty much a no brainer to me. Yingmin5's hydratube pieces that include bases are great for first time pieces.

Problem is there just isn't one best piece. Get a lot of different sizes and varieties. You'll see just how many uses there are at different times.

As a portable minivap user, I would definitely use a water tool. But I also declined to get the mighty/crafty when I was told that I could spend more for an even better vaporizer (the minivap). I use mine daily in portable mode with all types of bongs no problem. This isn't some vaporizer...
