Just got back from out of town to day and I got a pakage that looks suspiciously like a Zion. My inner teenage girl is squealing. EDIT: Oops, my misyake. It was some extra 18650 batteries I bought from IMR. Damn!

Got my invoice and paid up! Can't wait for the rise of the Zion!

I'm glad to know at least that I'm not the only one who has done that. Yeah, it's basically a brand new unit with stripped cap threads now. My thinking was that if I could find an o-ring with an ID that fits the notch on the GonG with an OD that provides a snug fit in the chamber. Kind of a shot...

I've got a problem I'm hoping someone can help me resolve. I stripped the top cap threads on my Solo trying to install one of those damn o-rings. So the upshot is that I no longer have a top cap on my Solo. Surprisingly enough, it still works just fine without it, but my PVHES GonG fits too...

Depends on the strain, I guess, but I am game for either.

The ELBs really do work nicely, and they don't clog any more quickly than any other type of metal screen. They do break down after awhile though -- the center seam starts coming apart, and they're done. And yep, $20 for 4 is kind of steep. I wonder what the markup on those things is.

Most of the built-in honeycomb glass screens will let the finer material through, which as others have indicated, causes particulate on the stem and sometimes in the mouth. I think the best designs with the glass screen is one where you can fit a flat mesh screen onto it so that the glass screen...

If the screen is permanently built in, then I think a honeycomb glass screen would be ideal. As is, seems the ELB is the best bet.

Some of the 14mm Solo PVHE GonGs back in stock. Been waiting for that.
