DIY Induction Heater Builds and References

Double coil manages overall height of the coil without removing any wire length. The number on the original FET should be used. They come in 2 flavors but they are nearly identical. Mine use 24N06G FETs ...eBay.

    Ispire Wand, enail&vaporizer

Thank you @PPN - PM sent. Thanks for reporting that the lack of function was from load-sensing. I was wondering about that. 22mm is not too far off. Standard ZVS comes with 19mm ID. Thank you.

    Ispire Wand, enail&vaporizer

@PPN - thank you for confirming the iSpire works with the VC. I was wondering if it would recognize the VC as a load/workpiece. Your older cap draws more power from the IH. It will take full power for the VONG. It is the nature of the newer caps that makes them different rather than the...

    Ispire Wand, enail&vaporizer

@bkkbob - have you tried to see if the Ispire Wand will recognize and heat a VapCap?

Oil will swell the wood. It needs to be taken apart and lightly sanded.

    Induction Heater ClickAndGo by Katalyzer

Cool, yea, the retailers will have the best answer. They didn't have to do that. Wall powered would require some wiring and it doesn't sound like you want to do that. These can be hazardous if not done right. Battery ratings are based on a minimum charge after so many cycles. Typically they...

    Induction Heater ClickAndGo by Katalyzer

The battery should last a user with a daily charge for about 1-1/2 years (~500 cycles). At this time the battery should be at about 80% of its capacity. I suspect it will take an artisan to come up with workable replacements. Manufacturers are in the business of obsolescence after all. While...

    Induction Heater ClickAndGo by Katalyzer

There is nothing standard about that pack. The cable interface is not something I recognize. Can a pack be reverse engineered? Of course.

    Dynavap VapCap

If I am not mistaken it is a combination of both a left and right handed helix @cybrguy Can anyone confirm with a real one?

@danielj - The dome comes from the constriction in the bottom of the bowl.

Oh that would be a bad idea... I'd hate to vape a piece of chipped plastic. Really, if you have some 5/16" hobby tubing you have a CCD inverter. I hope someone provides these in some form. All that makes it work is the clearance to place the CCD upside down while pushing on the edges of the CCD.

    Dynavap VapCap

Yes of course the inverters are FQ @BabyFacedFinster . :D Any 5/16" tube will work though. I now have zero hesitation about removing the CCD except how to clean the backside. It does grow a film. What are we making @RustyOldNail ? I have a few printers but not small stuff.

Its not that the shrinking CCD is not flat, the members that hold the outside radius have collapsed from the over-centering action on removal. Hammering the CCD will affect some change but never to the original state.

I can slip my CCD's in reversed and they don't blow out. I do have a Ti tip that has a taper to the bowl. It goes in concave but sits flat in the bottom. I don't use the Ti CCDs because they do deform when removed on over-centering. This deformation is what is effectively referred to as...

    Dynavap VapCap

@condition - My first and last captive cap was able to remove the captive function by squeezing the other direction and going back to a conventional slip-fit. This allowed my magnets to pull the cap off instead of catching on every ledge of the '20 SS tip.

    Portside Mini

I've had the Orion - even if Orion was $115, I would still go with the HotShot. HS feels better in the hand. Orion feels like any cheap plastic sealed clamshell case, because it is. Both are plastic but HS has a true solid feel in your hand. I don't know how to describe it but Orion echoes...

Fluxer Heaters, induction heaters for Dynavap

@dynavapmuser - Flite was tuned to maximize the second heating without combustion using its base configuration. This has to do with the 'George'-method of getting great rips - heat to click - cool on magnet - heat to click again and rip with the airport wide open. If the Flite is too cool at...
