Oddly enough @kazz, yes, that would be a reasonable assumption since clickers appear to be quite consistent at the same depth in the heaters [except Orion] If you do have an ammeter and no variable power supply, you don't have to set it for one amp at idle current, you can simply do the math...

VapCap Induction Heater for Desktop and in Car Use

    Dynavap VapCap

I have not seen any fading from use. The only thing that degrades over time is the clicker once it cracks. All the iron remains in the cap. I will add that different IH's will have different results in the gain ratio, but there is variance between caps as well. The less important variation...

    Dynavap VapCap

This is a deep topic and DV isn't talking. Basically - An IH couples with a cap based on the iron content [simple explanation]. Caps vary from one production run to another production run. The results can be seen when you measure the power the cap draws in comparison with other caps. Power...

    Dynavap VapCap

The weather makes a difference in how long the cap holds heat. Each draw takes a lot of heat from the cap. If that fresh air is 20C cooler than indoor vaping, it will reduce the volume of vape extracted for the heat cycle. What's worse is that more vape will condense on the condenser walls...

    Dynavap VapCap

We're on the same page @Smokey McVape . I have not done a torch for reasons but the Orion is way to aggressive indeed. If you dial an IH to heat the tip at the same rate of your favorite torch method, you will get a very similar experience. This is managed by the voltage put to the IH. "Rate"...

Fluxer Heaters, induction heaters for Dynavap

We're all hoping that will be the way the wind blows @Schmelly G .

    Dynavap VapCap

@Smokey McVape - Doesn't that suggest that the IH should be less aggressive to correct this heating issue?

Fluxer Heaters, induction heaters for Dynavap

Interesting way to get there @Jah75 - a hot setup for a cool cap to get the perfect balance

Fluxer Heaters, induction heaters for Dynavap

@Jah75 - You can nudge the coil a bit to where you want it. There would be no hope for people with OCD otherwise. I've tweaked mine to dead-center and go after it if anything re-tweaked it.

    Induction Heater ClickAndGo by Katalyzer

The SideClick is the conversation in the video regarding the spare tube. Not sure if all the variants would have the same spare parts included. I have always adjusted the cap position where the flat of my cap with the bottom of the coil for a nice aggressive heating while avoiding combustion...

    Induction Heater ClickAndGo by Katalyzer

Someone did refer to these as Orion clones in passing if that makes my statement clearer. Why would anyone clone Orion as it was? The schematic however could be cloned and rehoused. I didn't notice if it had the same activation delay as Orion in the video.

https://www.protocase.com/design/protocase-designer.php I might consider wood since it is so much easier to work and comes with style built-in.

I love Shoe Goo for fixing parts. It comes off much easier than silicone. Turns out Shoe Goo is a super-super-super-slow curing epoxy of sorts. I used some for fixing parts on my old RC race cars and the Shoe Goo shrank and crystalized. Held like the dickens anyway and did not damage. I was...

    Induction Heater ClickAndGo by Katalyzer

So this is the Orion clone mentioned in the DV thread. UK offering - https://verdampftnochmal.de/products/en/cuboo And then this one... SideClick - enjoy the review; youtube.com/watch?v=Sv89jPU6zZI Seems they also copied the patented reed switch implementation. Need a better case study...

    Dynavap VapCap

I meant the entry posted about, the SideClick as a product. However, yes, every heater out there save a couple are a basic triplet component set to make the heat with minimal support electronics. The IH heater is a device that converts DC power to AC power and then amplifies this AC signal to...

This SideClick is a basement development apparently. Those are the chokes used in Orion and the cap from Apollo. Looking forward to further information.

Would you look at that - a new layout based on Orion.

Love the name @Rei_Gado - That is a tight fit! @Fosterqc - The Mini ZVS circuit could tolerate 13.6V, automotive charge voltage [max], without too much issue with the OG coil. You would add turns to the coil to offset the voltage at a rate of one turn per volt. Technically, there are voltage...
