I've replaced two of mine with oven bags so far, they work and you can make them big or small. But there's something about that buttery soft herbie bag that I really don't wan't to go without. Just opened my third bag and I'm already anxious about the crinkly future that may lie ahead of me...

My ABV is a medium brown too, I've tried hard to get it as dark as possible. What I end up with is perfectly even with extremely reliable consistency. I would say my ABV looks almost exactly like tobacco in colour.

Boiling point and evaporation are different things. For instance, water left alone will eventually evaporate however it will take much longer than boiling. I believe boiling is the most rapid form of evaporation. The only thing faster would be sublimation.
