Good point, I should! https://www.instagram.com/winegums/ Yeah, I didn't think I was going to either but I had to know how it would look. I originally planned to put it on some cases and stands for grip in certain areas. I might experiment with some knot work carving at some point too. At...

Cool idea! How is the ergo when heating up the piece? I find myself missing the pipe experience but I can't help but think it will be awkward to heat. I still mean to get a j-hook and make some stubby vapcaps.

I was up late one night and saw some really pretty antique gunstocks with fish scale grips. I couldn't help but try to do some of it on a Vapcap stem. Well, I severely underestimated how difficult it is to layout and carve a pattern on a tiny round object. It really tested my patience to not...

For those that don’t follow my instagram this is what I’ve been up to lately. I got inspired to do some carving and have been practicing a bit.

Depending on the lighter and your usage style you could require a fill up per day. The more flames the lighter has the higher the fuel usage and the less efficient it is. Another factor is how many heat cycles you do per load and how many loads per day. Premium butane will keep your torch...

I get my cap glowing red nearly every session with my turbo single flame. I heat my cap by rolling it back and forth in my fingers rather than continuously so it gets a hot spot here and there. The beauty of the tip and cap design means that the hot spot really doesn't really cause any problems...

    Herb Grinders

I just saw this on my instagram feed, thoughts? I've wanted a solid Ti grinder for a long time. https://www.instagram.com/p/BdbAgrbBkZP/?taken-by=paulo_balzano

You mean like this? There's a fair bit of work and material waste involved with making pieces of plywood. It wouldn't be very efficient or easy for me to produce in my shop. I agree it would look pretty though, not with bright colours but natural wood tones. There's an 18mm, 14mm, two 7/16"...

Suggestions for a liter container of AVB, please

I would put it into a double layer of cheese cloth then simmer it in a pound and a half of butter and water for a few hours a just below a simmer. Then it's useful for anything you add butter to, I find cookies with ABV butter to be a great night time snack before bed. You can also use...

I think I've finalized my vaping stand/abv bin, or at least as much as I can do to this prototype. I added some two tone splines to the corners yesterday before the power went out. Thanks to @Hogni for suggesting that I bring the two ideas together. Since I started using a wooden stand for my...

I made a 45 degree spline cutting jig so that I can strengthen the corners on my miters. It also lets me do some pretty decorative accents. I think it really completes the piece and brings the top and bottom into harmony.

Why? Just heat higher on the cap than you currently are and the click temperature will be lower.

This would remove all the waxes or oil finishes that may be on the surface of the wood as well as pull out the natural oils. If left too long some woods that have high oil content may discolour and become lighter. So I wouldn't say there's no damage of any kind.

I honestly don't have much experience getting the smell of smoke out of wood. Accidental combustion is one of the reasons I use metal liners my stems. Even so, when I have combusted in my metal lined pieces I haven't noticed any smell in the stem. Perhaps since I was using an Omni at the time...

I worked on a second version of my organizer/ABV bin. It combines both ideas into one and ditches the space for the grinder which wasn't really working out anyways. I know that the laminated lid is a bit busy and I plan do do laminated sides with a solid top for production instead. This was more...

My best flavour results are from a 104mm long 8mm bore bamboo stem, a fine grind of the stinkiest and a medium heat with my Gen 4. It was far better than my metal pieces until it got stinky from condensate, but I'm not sure why the flavour was better? Regardless of stem material, Vapcaps bring...

Good news for those that are looking for pieces with Blackwood accents. I've found and ordered Ebonite rods which will hopefully replace the fragile wood which has caused so much trouble. While Black Walnut is a good dark wood that can replace it, it's not a true black. Ebonite however is a...

This is how I solved the smell problem. Can you get a small test tube to fit in the stash?

It's been 1 heat up click and 2 cool down clicks for me. I've had less accidents now that I put my vapcap on a magnet between heats.
