    Discontinued Thermovape Cera

Hello FC I'm pleased as punch to present v2 of my latching switch mod... Now with pretty lights! :science: MTV Pimped my cera! And here's how I did it: Thanks to a helpful tip from tim I replaced the steel contact spring I was using with a copper one that can handle the current...

    Discontinued Thermovape Cera

On the topic of improvements for the cera line how about Silicon Nitride for the cera 2? It's more fracture resistant than zirconia and its a cooler color too. My :2c:

    Discontinued Thermovape Cera

Regarding the smootheness of the vapor I gotta agree 100%. The first time I hit the cera was convinced it wasn't working until I exhaled and saw a light stream of vapor. Was so used to the harsh hits of some other vapes that I thought that was par for the course with portables unless you used...

    Discontinued Thermovape Cera

Bummer about the problems some people are having with their ceras, but these kind of things happen with any new product. Happy to report that mine has been running like a champ. After a few days of playing around with the thing I've been able to get dense, consistent vapor. OF was right on the...

    Discontinued Thermovape Cera

You were right, no mention of protection in description. Even more reason to just go with the TET batt

    Discontinued Thermovape Cera

Just a little protection circuit added to the battery for extra safety. Should be fine without it. TET didn't think it was necessary

    Discontinued Thermovape Cera

I've used the protected version of this cell as well as the NCR18650PD that TET ships with the cera. Warm up time is roughly a few seconds whereas with the TET batts the core is glowing hot almost instantly. Plus side of this battery is that you can get about 5-10 minutes of extra use compared...

    Discontinued Thermovape Cera

Quite true OF. I did it more for kicks than anything else. If someone were to do this commercially I would definitely recommend using a switch properly rated for the job. I've held on to the momentary switch so if there are any failures its a simple swap to replace it

    Discontinued Thermovape Cera

Hmmm. Still doing testing but not a bad idea... Possible liability though if someone starts a fire or injures themselves I think? This thing gets seriously hot when left on for too long , I now understand why TET decided to can the idea. In the end its convenience vs safety trade off I guess but...

    Discontinued Thermovape Cera

Thanks for the advice tim. Also big thanks OF the info in your posts really helped with the mod. Here is a link to the switch : 19mm latching switch As for the size the switch was a few mm longer than the one that ships with cera. I had to trim the switch contacts and shave a few...

    Discontinued Thermovape Cera

A picture of the switch assembly, apologies for the crappy iphone pic: Basically I took an old flash light contact spring and wired it to one end with some speaker wire and potted the whole thing with some JB weld. As for safety I'm running protected orbtronic cells so theres a little bit...

    Discontinued Thermovape Cera

Hey FC I made a little latching switch mod of my own: Got latching switch on ebay. It's actually an illuminated switch but wiring the leads for the LED is tricky with the tight space constraints. Otherwise it works great. For the LL core it is a must have IMO. Only rated at 3 amps though so...

    Discontinued Thermovape Cera

Got my cera finally!:D This thing is seriously beautiful in person pictures just don't do it justice. And the build quality...Wow you can really tell a lot of time and effort went in to its design. Fantastically engineered little vape. LL core only still getting the hang of it but initial...

While we're on the subject of mods, can the cera be run in reverse polarity?

    Discontinued Thermovape Cera

As for the switch question I've not received mine yet and couldn't say. Perhaps OF or others could chime in? I've contacted TET and they mentioned possibility of purchasing switch housings/end caps without switches installed later on down the road after the back orders have been filled and stock...
