The hercules sr-74 bottom insulator can go bad. You said it fires with no bottom insulator? I suspect the gold pins are not making full contact. Are the gold pins still in good mechanical condition? Do they still have the "springy" characteristics ?

Interesting stuff. Out of the box I found a intermittent misfire operating the Hercules SR71. I found that the bottom PTFE insert was not fully seated. Reassembled the top and it's been good 100%. I guess time will tell. But so far it's a shiny beautiful performer.

Talk about massive clouds on the HERCULES! G, have you personally tried the herc on 11v? I am sure you have done testing on it, how does it compare? 1g shatter vaped in two monster hits? Lol

The SR71 should read about 1.5 ohm. And the top cap is needed to avoid airflow problems. Might work without it. Drop the parts in ISO or boil them. Your choice
