    CCA Liger banger V3.0

^ all of This^ I'm using a single 0.040" hole on my cap and it works real well, much better than I could get with the storm cell or the hurricane.

Induction heated e-nail with arduino closed loop temp control

thanks @jwatttt . sure, you could add another thermocouple, that's what's nice about using an arduino for the controller. the battery pack I'm currently using is about 2" x 2" x 3" but is only 2.3 Ahr which is too small for the Liger. I only get 4 dab sessions now per charge, I need to replace...

Induction heated e-nail with arduino closed loop temp control

thanks! I'll try to get a new video up soon but I must warn you, my camera isn't so great and neither is my photography skillset.

Induction heated e-nail with arduino closed loop temp control

so I got my liger v3 20mm on New Years Eve and got to bang in the New Year properly :D. this thing is a beast compared to my dhgate Ti banger. I made a new work coil that is remote from the ZVS module and clips onto my dropdown and helps support the massive liger. this has worked very well...

    CCA Liger banger V3.0

^ This! I received my storm cell a couple of days ago and I'm not happy with it due to these issues. it doesn't mesh well with the top of the bucket and even the single hole setting is too airy. I use the heat shroud retainer as a carb cap and it works much better than either of CCA's caps...

    CCA Liger banger V3.0

how about leaving the bucket normally positioned and turn the nail up in stages until ~900* and hope that the Ti expands enough to allow the Sapphire insert to simply drop into the bucket by gently nudging it with a dry qtip on the high side to level it?

    CCA Liger banger V3.0

here's a great site about anodizing titanium that explains how it works and how to do it: http://mrtitanium.com/interference.html "How to produce the oxide layer and get the colors: Heat. Titanium eagerly grabs oxygen from the air, but the oxide layer blocks slow moving oxygen from the...

    CCA Liger banger V3.0

thanks for the quick reply. I tried that, except did not use pliers as I can tighten it enough by hand and it stays put, no issue there. but if I adjust it flush then it's still only gripping by literally 2 threads and the joint adapter at the other end is pointing up instead of down. so I just...

    CCA Liger banger V3.0

so after a week of rigorous and grueling testing, :ko: I have to say that all the descriptions of the liger experience were spot on and I view the liger as an essential piece of your rig if you want to get the most flavor, effects and efficiency from your concentrates. I dab rosin and the...

    CCA Liger banger V3.0

yeah, ditto, I like that it actually drops down instead of just out like most dropdowns I've seen.

woohoo!!! just got my "out for delivery" notice. looks like I get to bang in the new year with my liger. :D @CCA710 must have upgraded my shipping. thank you sir, much appreciated!:tup:

    CCA Liger banger V3.0

yes, I understand your point, I was trying to explain the wide variations in reported preferred temps. you are fortunate (other than the scratches) as your reported low dabbing temps indicate that your coil to liger thermal interface is quite good, much better than your friend's. possibly...

    CCA Liger banger V3.0

I agree, it bugs me too. it's the nature of the beast, all the different temps reported are due to the poor thermal interface plus having the thermocouple embedded in the hot runner heater coils that has become the (not so great) industry standard. my open source e-nail project uses an induction...

    CCA Liger banger V3.0

hey Gonzo, thank you very much, that's a very generous offer. :) I  this forum, there's always so many great people willing to help out.:clap: I will definitely be interested if I have issues with making the v3 version work with my induction heater due to the v3's new heat...

    next generation e-nails?

Just another thought about uptemp, it seems many e-nail controllers are using 1/16 and 1/32 DIN temperature controllers. If you like your current e-nail you could replace just the controller with a ramp/soak controller which would give you the same function. Like this one -...

    next generation e-nails?

Awesome! SiC for the masses! Yes indeed, highly recommended. I've been using the uptemp mode on my e-nail exclusively since it was mentioned in this thread. Currently I have it set to start ramping up at 400F ending at 520F after 80 seconds. Amazing flavor on the low end and thicker...

    CCA Liger banger V3.0

Hey, thanks for the assist guys, I did get a reply from Josh and it looks like only the V3.0 is available. The bucket looks a little bulkier than the V2.0 but that shouldn't be a problem. I'll be ordering one shortly. :D

    CCA Liger banger V3.0

Hey, thanks for the input Chase. I'm not using the normal hot runner style coil, I use an induction coil which actually doesn't require contact with the nail. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Induction_heating "Induction heating is the process of heating an electrically conducting object (usually a...
