While you have a dab have a listen to your hopper, can you hear ticking?

Has anyone used their hopper with rosin yet? Seen a video on YouTube and old mateys wraps it in cotton and dabs away, thinking it might be messy? Also has anyone heard a ticking noise from the hopper ?mine does! Thinking it's just the heater.. Any ideas? Sorry for the double post!
