Don't think there is a "normal". Some items are readily available and ship quickly directly from the manufacturer (like ours hopefully) and others are sent to MD and then they ship out to individuals. I've done three. Fastest was about 2 weeks from end, slowest took 5 weeks (Order from...

I've found shaking most of the excess out and then forcefully blowing through it from the bottom and then air dry if you have the time. Otherwise ok to use right away as long as you make sure the gong attachment (bottom hole) is nice and dry (paper towel or whatever). ~
